Sustainability in the office – for you and our planet.

Because sustainability is a promise.

Sustainability is a core commitment – to our environment, our clients, and future generations. As a company shaping modern workspaces, we carry a special responsibility. It’s about creating environments that are not only functional and inspiring, but also environmentally friendly, economically sound, and socially responsible. We firmly believe that sustainable action begins in the workplace. With our holistic approach, we combine ecological, economic, and social aspects in all our projects.

Sustainability in the office: optimized space planning and efficient use of space

Many office spaces are not used efficiently. Hybrid work models and remote work often leave desks unoccupied, while rooms continue to be heated and lit for the employees on site. High energy costs and unused areas go against the principles of sustainability. This is where our work begins – and where we make our contribution to sustainable office design. By using space effectively, costly energy can be saved in the long term. Optimizing office layouts helps reduce energy consumption in a more environmentally friendly way.

Ventilation, lighting, and space-related costs can be reduced through intelligently planned environments. Thoughtful space planning also supports modern ways of working, fosters collaboration, and helps further optimize space requirements.
Instead of long rows of empty desks, shared workstations can save space, making room for alternative areas and ensuring that existing spaces are used to their full potential.

With effective and forward-thinking space planning, we help companies design workplaces that not only meet actual needs but are also energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable.

coneon Furniture re-use

Sustainability in the workplace starts with what already exists. That’s why, with our Furniture Re-use Program, we focus specifically on the continued use and repurposing of existing office furniture. Before planning new furnishings, we conduct a thorough assessment of the current inventory. We carefully examine which pieces can be integrated into the new concept, how individual elements can be adapted or upgraded, and where creative upcycling can transform existing furniture into something new.

Intact furniture can and should be reused – a solution that makes sense both ecologically and economically. Newly acquired pieces do not need to be discarded; often, simply replacing individual elements is enough to adapt them to the new design. Older furniture also gets a second chance through creative repurposing – fully aligned with sustainability in the office. Our designers and planners skillfully integrate existing furniture into the new office concept and plan the repurposing of relevant items as added value for the new space. By reusing furniture, valuable resources are saved, waste is avoided, and emissions caused by new purchases are reduced. At the same time, unique solutions are created, combining aesthetics and functionality in the design.

Sustainable office furniture

Office furniture plays a central role in creating a sustainable work environment. That’s why we focus on furnishings that convince both in their function and in their origin and production. Our range includes products that are durable, high-quality, and made from sustainable materials. We are convinced that furniture designed to last many years, be flexibly used, and withstand wear requires less frequent replacement—and is therefore inherently more sustainable.

We prefer manufacturers who rely on sustainable forestry, use recyclable materials, and produce their products under fair and environmentally responsible conditions. We also strive to avoid long transportation routes. For us, sustainability in the office means transparency, responsibility, and quality—from the materials and production to delivery. Our design team enjoys planning work environments with multifunctional furniture that can flexibly adapt to changing needs and new situations. This allows the furniture to be used in different work areas and scenarios, reducing the need for additional equipment. These pieces are not only practical but also help conserve resources.

Because sustainability is an ongoing process, we continuously develop our range of sustainable office furniture and strive to make our products even more durable, versatile, and resource-efficient.

Conference chair NORA

The chair NORA was designed for modern work and meeting rooms. Its design follows the principles of the circular economy: at the end of its use, it can be disassembled without tools into pure materials and returned to the economic cycle. With its simple, timeless shape, NORA fits into any office environment — combining aesthetic design with ecological responsibility.

Acoustic element MOSAIK

MOSAIK is an acoustic system made from PET felt that promotes responsible resource use. It is produced from recycled PET bottles and is itself fully recyclable. The felt has a wool-like texture but is made of plastic with a recycling content of over 50%. MOSAIK thus combines sustainability with functional design.
