Global Offices in Germany – When Global Standards Meet German Reality

Bienenkorbhaus – Zeil 65 – 60313 Frankfurt am Main

How do global companies create working environments that meet international standards – and at the same time really work in Germany? At coneon connect: Global Offices in Germany, decision-makers from corporate real estate, architecture, workplace strategy and development came together to discuss precisely this topic.

When global office concepts encounter German regulations, mentality and communication culture, friction can arise – but so can valuable impetus, new perspectives, innovative solutions and mutual understanding. Our event created space for precisely this exchange – practical, honest and with an eye on the reality of international projects in Germany

Topics and questions for the evening

The focus was on how global standards interact with local realities – and what emerges from this interaction.

In our panel discussion, we talked about the balancing act between international workplace standards and German regulations such as the Workplace Guidelines (ASR), the cultural differences in work mentality and space utilisation between different countries, and how communication and decision-making processes are structured in global project teams. We also discussed how owner expansion and responsibilities influence each other and what international companies can learn from the German planning process – and vice versa.

Each perspective brought its own experiences to the table: from corporate to developers to planners. This resulted in a multifaceted dialogue between strategy, culture and design.

Many thanks to our speakers and all our guests who shaped this evening with clear points, real experiences and honest questions. It was a valuable discourse on what global companies in Germany actually need in order to successfully implement modern working environments.
